There is nothing like starting things off with a bang. And the Sherry-Lee Wisor Trio (with other locals Fat Dave Johnston and Tom Murray) set the SOS Fest standard pretty high, right out of the gate.
This was the first band we saw and they are great. Wisor’s got a little rasp to her voice and it’s sweet, forceful and smoky whenever it needs to be. The band has a great country, folk, bluegrass sound, and Wisor’s lyrics come from places of experience.
That they closed out their set, one of the SOS openers, with “Ooh La La,” only makes me want to see and hear more.
